“Ask Aunty Kaye” is a seminar series covering a wide range of topics related to dog training and behaviour.

These sessions can be hosted by your club or training organisation.

Wagging School also plans to run these sessions as part of our Instructor Training and Mentoring Program.

Format: This is a seminar (talk only) with no practical dog-handling component. This seminar series is offered to clubs who want to have a monthly information night. It also lends itself to an evening presentation at the end of a whole day workshop.

Program: I offer a wide range of topics on training methods, training/learning theories and behaviour problems. This is a selection of headings. There are detailed topics under each heading. Others may be presented on request.

  1. Behaviour problems
  2. Understanding Your Dog
  3. Learning Theory
  4. Pack Theory
  5. Training issues and concepts
  6. Training Techniques
  7. Instructing skills
  8. Dogs in the community

Duration: 2 hours, usually an evening, 7 pm to 9 pm, with short coffee break.

Participants: flexible – basically there is no limit.

Charges:
When the host is handling enrolments and charging for attendance, I usually suggest $25 per person. Clubs may prefer to charge $10 for members and $25 for non-members.
